Bestmind assisted SWS Engineering S.p.A. in the design management of a portfolio of 8 different railway projects for the same end customer, TCDD (Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Devlet Demiryolları – Turkish State Railways).
The portfolio included lines totalling about 800 km in length, of which about 500 km are high speed.
1 – Adapazarı – Istanbul High Speed
2 – Sivas – Erzincan High Speed
All projects included: cartography, corridor study, alignment definition, geological and geotechnical investigations, environmental impact assessment (EIA), hydraulic studies, road diversions, station design, tunnel design, viaduct design with different technologies, cost estimates, technical specifications and contractual documents.

Bestmind initially performed due diligence on the projects, defining with company management the framework within which the projects would be completed. Activities were derived by defining the WBS (Work Breakdown Structure), time schedules and milestones, creating cost plans, and assessing the tools and human resources available to achieve the objectives on time and within budget.

Bestmind then managed the tenders and interactions with subcontractors, as well as stakeholder engagement, creating a data storage system and a communication management plan. Project changes were continuously monitored, with scope, schedule and costs being updated accordingly.
